21st Century Learning
Hello, my dear readers!💖
Today,
we are going to talk about 21st Century Learning, what is it and why is it
significant for language learning.
21st
Century Learning refers to a curriculum designed to meet the needs of the
contemporary world and emphasize critical thinking, teamwork, creativity, and
communication skills. Its purpose is raising successful students in a
society which is becoming more interconnected and changing quickly, and for
this purpose it it acknowledges the rapid evolution of technology and
globalization.
In order to acquire a language, 21st-century learning is essential, as it focuses
on communication and cultural awareness. Language skills are more than just
vocabulary and syntax; they also include the ability to understand different
views and to express them effectively. The integration of technology will
improve access to real materials, facilitate communication with native
speakers, and provide interactive learning opportunities that will attract
students' attention.
When a school is designed with 21st-century learning frameworks in mind, integrating knowledge and skills with the essential support systems of curriculum and instruction, standards and assessments, professional development, and learning environments, students become more involved in the learning process and graduate with the necessary skills to prosper in today's digitally and globally interconnected world (Batelleforkids,2019).
As a teacher candidate, I believe it is crucial for English teachers to use technology in the classroom in this era. Along with making learning more engaging and individualized, it helps learners in developing their digital literacy. Students can get ready for communication scenarios in the real world and have access to a wide range of resources thanks to technology.
I hope you enjoy reading!
