Enhance Your Speaking Skills With AI!

How are you all doing? I hope you are doing amazing!  


Today, I’m so excited to come back and announce you our new task. This week, we were supposed to integrate AI into teaching materials. For this task, as usual, I worked with my friends Nisa Elmas, Bilge Dilara Doğan, and Polat Öztürk. Our task focused on enhancing speaking skills through creating a fun task which we called "Creating Your Dream Vacation." While creating, we used Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, in its “Live” mode. Students are to interact with Gemini to plan their dream vacation abroad. They will describe their ideal vacation, get country suggestions, explore tourist attractions, and request detailed feedback on their speaking skills.



The task starts with choosing a country for vacation, asking questions like, “What kind of food would you like to try?” Afterward, students explore their chosen country with Gemini’s help. For the final step, they role-play their entire vacation experience as if they had visited and got feedback from Gemini.  


For designing the material, we used Canva. While Polat was working on the layout, Nisa, Bilge, and I prepared the instructions and the ASSURE plan.  


In general it was fun collaborating on this AI integrated task with my friends.

  Hello, my dear readers!💖 Today we are going to talk about collaborative writing.  This week we were assigned to make a collaborative writing. Hello, my dear readers!💖 It is sad to tell you this but this will be my last post in this blog.  Since this post is my final post for my Instructional Technologies in Material Design course I want to talk about this course and what I did in this course. So, let's look at what I have done so far.  Before taking this course I actually had almost no idea about the integration of technology in English language teaching. I've learned many web pages, AI tools, educational apps and so much more to use in my future assignments and classes when I became a teacher. I also learned that all these tools have both good and bad sides. We can get help from them but they can sometimes make our tasks more challenging and the informations we collect from them might not be reliable.  In general, I didn't see this course and the tasks as something I am forced to take as some of my other courses. :( Instead, this was a great course that taught me lots of things that I can use in the future.       Hello, my dear readers! 💖   It is nice to see you all again after a short break. 😊 Today we are going to talk about digital storytelling. What is it? Digital storytelling is a way of telling story which combines the art of storytelling with multimedia features such as photography, text, audio, voiceover, hypertext and video. Digital tools and software make it easy and convenient to create a digital story. This week, we were assigned to create a digital story for our Instructional Technologies and Material Design course.
